This is My Story

On February 5,2010 I was arrested and interrogated for murder, theft & arson that occurred January 19,2010. I was officially charged with the murder on February 6,2010.

I was found guilty of First Degree Murder, Arson, and theft on August 13,2010 and on

October 5,2010 I was sentenced to Life plus 25 years. I did not commit this crime. The only crime i committed was buying the stolen jewelry.

As a truck driver I was often approached about buying various items for sale. The jewelry was sold to me at what I considered to be " A good Deal I was completely unaware that the jewelry was real. The sellers stated  "some of the jewelry is real and some was not". But, it was real and it just so happened to belong to a wealthy real estate lady in my hometown.

The trial was politically motivated and pushed to get a conviction at any cost and got it. The victims son is the mayor of one of the communities around Giles county and her other son is a baptist minister. There was DNA evidence that should have completely exonerated me of any involvement, the judge would not allow my attorney to  pursue the line of question toward the detective about the DNA. The D.A. Even stood up and  said "We don't care about the DNA". Of course the state doesn't care because it could prove and still can prove that i did not commit this crime. The entire case was completely one sided in the favor of the prosecution.

The state also forgot to disclose a crucial piece of evidence, A statement from the medical examiner about a burned watch the victim was wearing. This key piece of evidence was revealed during the trial which prohibited my court attorney from making a "credible defense". The state alone had witnesses, four credible witnesses at home or a place of business at the time this crime was supposedly being committed. There is 20-25 minutes that I had just one alibi, My wife, One of the states witnesses who places me at home and this state claims the crime was committed in this time which is not possible in anyway.

If my attorney would've known about this piece of evidence

proper forensics testing could have been sought and would

have further proved the fire started earlier in the morning

for which i had more than one credible alibi witness.

Also the DNA evidence, Should have proved my innocence

but when the state realized that my DNA was not present they

changed the direction of their prosecution amd chose not to

bring the DNA or lack of DNA up in the trial. The DNA from the

bloody latex glove and couple of other items was 100% proof it

was not me but we had no experts for the defense to further

reinforce the proof, to go into in-depth detail. With the lack of

funds no experts in the fields of Arson ,Crime Scene Reconstruction

or DNA/ Forensics were sought. I am limited to these services

because the state will not provide the proper funding and my family is of very modest means and can not afford the experts I need. I also could not afford a high-end attorney so one from the same county i live in was appointed to me. He did his best, however in this situation his best just wasnt good enough. This is your classic " Good Ole Southern boy Injustice".

"If i am unable to acquire any help, I will become another human being imprisoned the rest of my life for a crime i didn't commit. The local news media has made me out to be a cold hearted killer, but when you look at the cold hard facts I am Innocent.

I need experts to help me prove my innocence. I was not convicted because of my guilt. I was convicted because of a corrupt investigators and court system. I was convicted because I was an easy target that lacked the social and political status in this community. If the state was so assured of my guilt then why did they object to a change of venue? Because they knew that a jury from different county that did not know the victim or her family, nor were under any local, social or political pressure would never have convicted me of this crime."
